Stories have a rhythm to them. They draw us in, teach us, realign us, and reinvigorate us. There’s just not much that beats a good story…
We can learn to harness the power of storytelling deliberately, to help us be more effective in our lives and our work.
Riding the Arc of the Story is a practical and inspiring workshop, that examines the very structure of how stories are written and told. You will get an inside peek at the tricks writers and actors use in successful storytelling – and how you can make these tools work for you in business and life. We also take a look at the resistance that often arises at the juncture between generating ideas and acting upon them.
You will learn:
- The difference between productive and unproductive conflict, and how productive conflict moves projects forward
- Techniques borrowed from theatre and literature to “reverse-engineer” intended outcomes
- Methods for thawing resistance to action & overcoming obstacles
- Ways to communicate your outcomes that inspire commitment and enthusiasm
What they’re saying about Riding the Arc of the Story:
Business today is stuck within a traditional problem-solving framework that lacks creativity and energy. Amy Frazier gives us both. She took me on an adventure, where difficulties were turned into opportunities. She turns business innovation into beautiful art. – Nils Elmark CEO – Marks and Brands Copenhagen, Denmark
“Riding the Arc of the Story is a powerful framework for staying present in your journey. The lessons I learned in this workshop have helped me overcome my resistance to change. What could have previously zapped me of my motivation can now be seen as an opportunity. – Stavros Michailides, Innovation Consultant
I was not only impressed with Amy’s professionalism and understanding of the subject matter but also with her ability to connect and impart the information to those in attendance. The information on how to use the principles of storytelling in solving my day to day business opportunities has given me a fresh new set of tools to use to capitalize on those opportunities. — J. Heine, The Boeing Company
