Designing Creative Teams

Do you ever wonder why your team of bright idea-makers sometimes struggle to make it to the finish line? Do you find yourself frustrated when someone on your team rushes ahead before you’re ready? You may be experiencing differences in cognitive preferences — the different ways people think about the projects and processes that make up their days.

Designing Creative Teams takes a look at these preferences in the context of team development. Through the use of the FourSight Breakthrough Thinking Profile, individual preferences and team composition become stepping stones to greater effectiveness. FourSight is linked to phases of the Creative Problem Solving process. Tools that are useful in CPS process steps become important ( and fun) training techniques to help a team build on strengths and overcome weak areas.

One of the greatest values in this program comes from the education about how creativity really operates from person-to-person, helping to demystify the idea that the idea-makers are “the creative ones.” Teams who go through the process learn the importance of each other’s preferences, while developing a greater sense of worth for the value of their own contributions. The skill building that comes with the CPS tools ensures that this awareness is coupled with specific, repeatable techniques for improving the creative capacity of your team.
